NeX Step is a pre-revenue start-up company that supports the development of personalized medicine based on the emerging science of pharmacogenomics. We provide decision support software and services to help physicians and pharmacists personalize and optimize each patient's drug protocol, tp reduce adverse drug reactions and improve medical outcomes. We have developed a software application (The Rx Factor) which uses proprietary logic and algorithms to integrate four sets of data: (1) each patient's unique profile of the genes and enzymes affecting drug metabolism, (2) the Rx and OTC drugs, supplements and foods the patient is currently taking, (3) a comprehensive data base of drug-drug interactions and (4) our proprietary data base of drug-gene interactions. The Rx Factor is delivered as a web-based SaaS application or can be licensed by health care providers to run on their internal HIS systems. We also employ a staff of consulting PharmDs who use our tools to provide prescription advisory services to physicians and pharmacists.
