The Arc of Bergen and Passaic Counties, Inc., is a private not-for profit organization of families, self advocates, professionals and community members dedicated to assisting individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families to build better futures. Serving individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy down syndrome and epilepsy, the Arc is a membership organization affiliated with The Arc of New Jersey and The Arc of the United States. The Arc serves over 1,000 individuals with disabilities and their families annually without regard to race, creed or natural origin. Programs include early intervention for infants and toddlers, summer camp, educational advocacy, family support, respite, case management, companion, after school, recreation, vocational training, job placement, supported employment, adult day programs, residential homes and apartments. The Arc Planning and Guardianship Corporation offers trust management, guardianship, advocacy and support servicesFunding for The Arc's programs and services comes form a variety of sources including government contracts, industrial sales, grants, the United Way, fundraising events and contributions from the public. The Arc is a not for profit 501(C)(3) charitable organization, therefore contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
