A spin-off company from A*STAR Singapore, has a strong research and development capability, and specializes in Education Technology. Over 38,000 teachers use CommonAcademy as an online learning portal, and over 230 schools in Singapore use Swiiit to manage their websites. CommonTown's latest development, Dudu, is Singapore's first research-based Personalised Chinese Learning System. Dudu recommends levelled eBooks based on each student's reading ability to allow the student to improve his/her command of the Chinese language through reading. In 2013, the Ministry of Education One Portal All Learners (OPAL), powered by CommonAcademy, won the Asia Pacific FutureGov Award for Education Organisation of the Year.
