Towers of Excellence is an organization that provides at-risk students in underserved communities with quality mentoring through academic guidance, social and emotional learning, character development and enriching life experiences to prepare our students to navigate the joys and challenges of everyday life.We work with students and families in underserved communities in an effort to close the inequity gap in urban areas. Our mentor-teachers work with small groups of students beginning in 6th grade, and loop with their students until they graduate from 8th grade, and help ensure a successful transition into High School. Our mentor-teachers meet with our students weekly, with daily check-ins, to strengthen their relationship and ensure our students are growing and evolving into caring and compassionate change agents. Our mentor-teachers engage our students with weekly rigorous lessons with specific objectives aligned to our Be SMART core values. Our Be SMART core values are: Be Self-Aware, Be Mindful, Be Authentic, Be Responsible and Respectful, and Be Tenacious. These core values anchor our grade level program modules and are designed to ensure our students evolve into caring and compassionate leaders.Our grade level program modules are designed to promote academic, social and emotional growth for all of our students. They are refined to meet the needs of each individual student. Our mentor-teachers and staff work with the families to ensure we are addressing all of our students needs.Through quality mentoring our students experience great success in their personal and school lives, as is evident by their grades, teacher reports, test scores, and observational feedback from their mentor-teachers, families and school.We are working to inspire the youth of today to become the leaders of tomorrow!
