Official Student Ambassador and Tour Guide at the University of Florida
Florida Cicerones were founded in 1968 as the University of Florida's first permanent student hosts corps. Students served as guides and hostesses, promoting the university to campus guests. Florida Cicerones coined their name from the legacy of Marcus Tullius Cicero, a Roman statesman and writer, known as the the greatest orator of the late Roman Republic. Sponsored by the University of Florida Alumni Association, Florida Cicerones is comprised of a select and diverse group of students representing various facets of the University of Florida community. Florida Cicerones serve as the official student ambassadors of the University of Florida by representing the student experience at many functions throughout the year.Florida Cicerones mission is to unite past, present, and future Gators by serving three distinct campus partners including the Office of Admissions to facilitate campus tours, the Office of the President to host esteemed guests during presidential events, and the UF Athletic Association to host prospective athletes and their families. Additionally, Florida Cicerones act as the governing body of Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (STAT), the university's official student alumni association, dedicated to creating opportunities for student advancement.
