Lights Camera Discover (LCD) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization devoted to developing strategies to bring about positive skill sets of our youth. Our mission statement is simple, turning imaginations into opportunity. We provide youth opportunities to develop self-confidence and understand work ethics by providing a platform to showcase their creative side through writing, film and much more. One of the highlights of Lights Camera Discover is to have students showcase their talent. We look to help develop and understand self-value through our workshop series, which is based on the concept that one size does not fit all. Our workshops consist of all stages and various aspects of performing and digital arts. The main aspect of our workshop is capturing our youth's creativity. With this in mind we give them a stage to display their thoughts, their views, their love and most importantly their self-worth. We want our students, to feel free to express themselves and understanding who they are, allowing them to bring a new positivity to their life, and communities. Our focus will be on a new positivity of self, rather than making the wrong decisions that lead to a negative environment. One aspect that is Lights Camera Discover is helping students develop the importance of teamwork and responsibility, in order to reach the goal they have set for themselves. Lights Camera Discover is made available to those students who have had some economic challenges by offering affordable workshops. Over time, Lights Camera Discover will strengthen students and empower them by offering priceless opportunities that will give each student valuable skills and character.
