The investor called Ken to renegotiate over 250 retail store leases across Canada. He was able to terminate some store leases, extend terms on others often with reduced rent. Savings exceeded $5M and equally important, the investor became more confident about making a larger investment since lease liability was more manageable. Relations with landlords continued to improve once new deals were put in place. Ken drafted all the documentation for approval by client's lawyers (after all, Ken knows what lawyers want to see).
