GUIR provides specialised and tailored services to individuals and organisations across the private, government and community sectors. GUIR's spheres of influence include: research and evaluation, mental health care, education, justice, health care and employment spaces. GUIR specialises in:- program co-design and delivery- Research and evaluation- coaching- mentoring- Staff training; e.g. cultural safety, leadership, board governance - cultural supervision- organizational capacity building and moreGUIR developed the unique COURAGE Coaching Model. COURAGE: (Culture, Optimism, Understanding, Relationships, Acceptance, Gratitude and Encouragement). Developed from a cross-cultural alliance between Indigenous and mainstream mental health practitioners the model provides a culturally safe and holistic framework to guide GUIR's work. The model incorporates third-wave therapeutic resources with First Nations wisdom traditions and elements of military leadership. This work was mentioned in the Citation by the chair of the academic board for the award of Honorary Doctorate in Health Sciences which was conferred upon GUIR's founder and managing director Ken Zulumovski Hon DHSc by the University of Sydney.GUIR also works to promote community cohesion with a focus on marginalised groups who may be at risk of radicalisation. GUIR's corporate social responsibility project is Gamarada Indigenous Healing and Life Training Pty Ltd. The DGR and TE status charity, responds to the therapeutic and educational need for culturally safe community programs targeting family violence, addiction, suicide prevention and family dislocation. This work was independently validated by UNSW. The charity also functions to improve access to education, justice and health care and was recognised by the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet with an Excellence Award for Building Leadership in Indigenous Communities.
