CERT (UK) Ltd - Formerly Eden Flood Volunteers Ltd, a small Charity with a Huge Heart trying to make a difference.A community response group set up following the devastation caused by Storm Desmond and the subsequent storms in December 2015. Although, in the beginning we set up to support the flood affected, we also support the following with furniture and goods:Veterans - HomelessnessDomestic Violence Relocation/HomelessnessHMP RehomingNatural DisasterHouse FiresHardship/EmergenciesWe liaise with a wide variety of individuals, families, businesses, organisations, agencies, local & central government, emergency services and other aid charities, to be able to offer a joined up seamless process. We are extremely aware that as a single entity we cannot achieve everything for everyone so we "WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE"​ in the lives of all whom we help and support.We collect and distribute goods donated throughout Cumbria and the surrounding counties from local and national businesses. From food & toiletries to sofa's and beds. This is all administered and managed by a team of Volunteers and a small handful of paid employees. Volunteers are and continue to be the backbone of everything which we do and achieve. In the past 13 months our volunteers have clocked up a total of 98,000 hours working and supporting 20,000 homes and businesses across 9 Counties within the United Kingdom.We are continually looking for funding as the issue of flooding isn't going to leave we need to be here to continue to support before and after a major event. We are here to support and enhance the offer given by the emergency services and only go into a situation once given the go-ahead that it is safe to do so.Our CEO - Kerryanne Wilde and 2IC - Sue Dust are unpaid full-time volunteers who work tirelessly to support our 700+ ongoing clients.
