Core members – Timothy Constable, Bree van Reyk and Joshua Hill are all award-winning and internationally acclaimed exponents of new music in their own right.Taikoz is Australia's only professional taiko ensemble. Since 1997, the group has developed a reputation for dramatic performances that couple explosive energy and extreme dynamism with refinement and grace. With ancient practice at its core, TaikOz unites tradition with the latest contemporary compositions.Combining the visceral power of Japanese taiko with the ethereal sound of the bamboo shakuhachi, Taikoz is exploring a synthesis of East and West, old and new.
