Peaker Services, Inc. (PSI) was founded in 1971 in a two-car garage in Belleville, Michigan to repair and maintain 2.5 MW EMD diesel generators or "Peakers" as they are known in the utility industry. As demand for PSI's services grew from power generation to also include marine and rail, the company built a 45,000 sq. ft., facility on a 10 acre site in Brighton, Michigan, approximately 30 minutes northwest of Detroit. Throughout this time PSI was active in retrofitting control systems and in 2001 became a channel partner for Woodward, expanding it's service applications to include natural and renewable gas engines and steam and gas turbines. In 2006, PSI added the New Castle, Delaware location to service PSI's expanding East Coast market. On June 15, 2021, Peaker Services, Inc. celebrated 50 years of quality and excellence.
