MuslimMatters.org is a group blog dedicated to issues relating to Muslims and Islam: social, political and religious; from random rants to light humor. We are especially concerned with affairs of Muslims in the West. We challenge ourselves and our readers to engage in discourses that touch our lives as citizens of the West, while maintaining our individual Islamic identities; ultimately to cooperate, but not to compromise. MuslimMatters was launched in early 2007, but has already gained recognition as being an important voice for the Western Muslim, being included in the Times Online list of top 30 most influential religion blogs, receiving an ‘honourable mention' in the "Best Group Blog" category of the Fourth Annual Brass Crescent Awards, and then going on to win the same category the following year.
