22 Challenges is, in a way, a memorial to Janet Mary LeBeau, the matriarch of the LeBeau family which is now spread out across the United States. Janet spent the majority of her life as a single mother struggling to provide for her four children, Donna, Sandy, Dale, and Jeanne, while educating, motivating, and elevating them to higher standards.Janet passed away in early 2008 due to a decade-long battle against emphysema and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Long before her passing, Janet made a financial commitment of $2,200 to her grandson, Jamie, who is also the founder of 22 Challenges. This gift, to be used towards education and a vehicle purchase to get to college, literally changed his life. Thus, the idea behind 22 Challenges was born.Following Janet's lead of touching and changing lives for the better, 22 Challenges seeks to positively impact the lives of children and adults who may find themselves in similar situations to those Janet faced during her life. In order to accomplish the goals set forth by 22 Challenges, each decision made and action taken by the Board, its Founders, employees, or those associated with 22 Challenges in any way, must strictly adhere to our mission, vision and values statements which are outlined herein and to our strict conflict of interest policies outlined on our website.Because of 22 Challenges, even in death, Janet will have a hand in changing lives and providing for others for many years to come.
