Pause First Academy specializes in resilience training for first responders, both in-person and online. Our trainers have backgrounds in law enforcement, fire service, EMS, corrections, military and more. Visit the website to learn more and meet the team. Pause First Academy was started by Kim Colegrove, author of Mindfulness for Warriors. Colegrove is the wife of a retired first responder who died by suicide. As a tribute to her husband and a thank you to first responders, Kim created a 4-hour meditation and mindfulness course called Learn to Pause℠ Mindfulness Training, which includes PAUSE15 Meditation℠ instruction. In 2017, she partnered with Major Darren Ivey of the Kansas City, Missouri police department, gathered an advisory board, and began offering her course to first responders.
