I am very interested in the way people view my art and their participation in the presentation of a painting. While I may see a piece in one way, my viewer may wish to view it in another. For this reason I sign my works on the side, so it can be hung in any way appropriate for the purchaser. My work means different things to each individual viewer. I am always willing to share with a purchaser how I view a work, but I also encourage people to articulate what it is they like about a painting. This is another way I like to encourage participation in viewing artwork. Like Plato, I wish for my art to provide a place of peaceful contemplation for the viewer. I know from experience this is not always the case, since we all see the world through different lenses. My greatest wish is for you to enjoy the view.
