Our approach emphasizes personal agency while expanding access to local assets, addressing the life challenges arising from migration-understood as an often complex series of backward, onward, or circular movements, rather than a single, permanent event. Along with birth and death, migration is among the primary factors of population change; it is often described as the most difficult to measure, model, and forecast, as it can recur over an individual's lifetime. The journey itself can carry great emotional nuance, from hope and excitement for those who pursue further education, greater professional opportunity, or religious liberty, to devastation and loss for others escaping violence or environmental disasters. Even once these migrants reach new destinations, their journeys are far from over. Although specific challenges vary by country, culture, and community, new arrivals often lack awareness of existing resources, access to services, or ability to advocate for themselves and their families. Whether limited by language barriers or missing paperwork, migrants can fall through the cracks of a new community, impacting their well-being and trapping their children and generations to come in a cycle of poverty.Believing that each of these migrants has inalienable rights and deserves the chance to thrive in his or her new home, we address this pressing global issue in targeted local contexts. Operating thus far in Baja California, Mexico, Inalienable builds relationships with communities, identifies needs and assets, and closes the gaps that separate migrants from resources. Our process expertise and practical support play a valuable part in facilitating collaborative solutions and sustainable change at the local level.
