Iloilo Scholastic Academy (ISA) started its operation in April 2004. ISA is a formal educational institution duly recognized, and strictly complies with the curriculum prescribed, by the Department of Education of the Philippines. The school offers subjects such as Communication Arts in Filipino, English and Mandarin; Mathematics; Sciences; Social Studies; Music, Art, Physical Education and Computer.ISA adopts the interactive system of classroom learning process. It aims to help its learners build fluency and comprehension, which they will use to acquire knowledge on different subjects of interest in a more independent manner.By embracing the learner-centered approach of classroom instruction, ISA deviates from the traditional way of teaching methodology. The shift of the role of mentors from a 'teacher' whose job is to impart knowledge to the receptive pupils to that of a 'facilitator' whose concern is to provide guidance to the active learners is the cornerstone of ISA Educational System. At ISA, the facilitators turn the ideal of 'laying the foundation for a child's lifelong learning' into a daily reality.ISA believes that when children become readers, their world is forever wider and richer. Thus, if there is anything we will never trade off in exchange of even a great fortune, that is to turn each and every ISAer into an avid reader.
