Boron Molecular is an Australian owned organisation originally spun out of the CSIRO in 2001. Boron Molecular has for many years supplied a range of early and late stage intermediates into the pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry industries. Utilizing this experience and the stringent requirements for the provision of quality product, we have extended our interest into the materials science field and are currently supplying materials and advanced stage intermediates for use in the development and manufacture of OLED displays and a number of other niche markets in the polymer, coatings and adhesives fields. In addition to the manufacturing facilities located in Melbourne, Australia we have a sales, warehousing and distribution center located in Raleigh, North Carolina that allows us to service our northern hemisphere clients. We have a range of facilities which allow us to undertake complex synthetic reactions on scales ranging from milligrams to metric tons. Our facilities are designed to meet all relevant local regulations for the development and manufacture of novel synthetic products. The facilities are supported by an extensive quality system which is ISO 9001 compliant. In 2015 Boron Molecular signed a master agreement with the CSIRO for the development and commercialization of a number of new technology platforms. The initial work concentrated on the commercialization of RAFT (Reversible Addition-Fragmentation chain Transfer) Agents and development of novel polymers based on this technology. This has now expanded to the manufacture of PHMO (polyhexamethylene oxide) and PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane, 1,3-bis-hydroxyethyoxypropyl terminated), which are materials used in the manufacture of medical grade polyurethanes. More recent work has focused on thermal polymerization reactions to produce novel styrenic polymers and anionic polymerizations.
