National Coordinator at Zimbabwe Civil Society Organisations Scaling Up in Nutrition Alliance - , ,
About ZCSOSUNA Malnutrition has persisted as a national concern in recent years. In a collective effort to push nutrition into the forefront of public Health Agenda, the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN), a global movement, was formed. Zimbabwe Joined the SUN movement in 2011. Aligned with the global SUN movement and commitments made by the country, Zimbabwe formed the Civil Society Alliance in 2013. The alliance is composed of international, national and community based organisations, the media , the academia and professional bodies who all work together to advocate for the further development of the national nutrition agenda and ultimately improve the lives of malnourished people across Zimbabwe. What We Do Our role as The Zimbabwe Civil Society Alliance in Scaling up Nutrition is to raise awareness, increase the profile of this issue and pressure government and others to ensure much better funded and broad scale effective programmes to tackle malnutrition. We intend to achieve this by mobilizing, coordinating and building the capacity of the Civil Society organisations (CSOs) influence national efforts through constructive dialogue, advocacy with stakeholders, including the Government, donors and private sector, thereby contributing to improved leadership and accountability towards the Zimbabwean SUN network. Further, we enable Zimbabwean CSOs to adapt and incorporate relevant positive lessons learned from other countries.
