Russia is the largest country in the world in terms of size, and one of the most attractive markets in the Eurasian region. The market is however going through a phase of radical changes, initiated in 2015 by a range of sanctions against Russia decided by the US and the European Union.As a result, the market share of US IT companies have been decreasing on a regular pattern, replaced by either Asian suppliers, or Russian companies, in particular in Software. A number of Western companies have decreased their presence in Russia, and some even closed down their operation, like NetGear or more recently Splunk. One the other side, many Asian companies are now developing business in Russia, remotely from their country of origin, or opening a representative office in Russia.
