Once upon a time, there was a concert promoter named Loanne. Loanne had a place called The Anaconda in Isla Vista, CA, along with her best friend and associate Rob, who also owned a record store. Together they ran this incredible venue in a very DIY way, which meant booking, cleaning, catering, and of course loading in and out the lighting, sound and backline. Many years and a few venues later ultimately ending at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, CA, enter Nokey Tipton, an auspicious young man from a family of Morticians. Nokey soon begins the rigmaroles of working under Loanne, which means you must learn everything, or you cannot properly direct. Loanne immediately sees the potential in Nokey, and together they begin to train the house crew in the fine arts of Lighting and Sound. Shortly thereafter Superior Stage Crew was officially born. Fast forward to 2010, Superior Stage Crew has become a strong force in the production industry, and for us production is not just about the flip of a switch or the turn of a knob, it is about unbridled creative expression and creating the complete picture. For us the Superior experience begins long before the scheduled start time and ends long after the moment the last case is packed and the last truck rolls.
