Most hogs are raised in massive confined feedlots that are not only terrible from a hogs' perspective but also detrimental to the environment and the surrounding communities. When you take antibiotics out of the picture, the hogs are required more space (including outdoor), thus a better life for them, less harm to the environment, and ultimately a better tasting finished product.
