CASA is an independent, non-profit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Working through trained community volunteers, CASA ensures that needed services are made available to foster children while helping to move them toward safe and permanent homes. Volunteers play a vital and powerful role in the child's life. Other organizations provide mentoring services for youths, after-school programs or medical care, but no single organization addresses the complete needs of a foster child as Hudson County CASA does. Nor does any other organization give the specialized, one-on-one attention to a foster child that a trained CASA volunteer can.
