SAFEchild works with parents, families and caregivers to create nurturing environments for children, free from abuse and neglect. With the ultimate vision of eliminating child abuse in Wake County, SAFEchild delivers support and education to families by helping them break negative parenting patterns, improve communication and relationship skills, and take advantage of community resources. Since its founding in 1992, SAFEchild has worked with more than 7,500 parents and has reached some 70,000 children. By motivating hundreds of dedicated volunteers and a core of highly skilled staff, SAFEchild touches traditional and non-traditional families with children of all ages and parents and caregivers of all backgrounds.
