Founded in 1998 in Selsey, West Sussex, we are the UK’s number one website for finding a quality tradesperson. From our humble beginnings to becoming a national household name, we’ve been on an exciting journey and we’re growing too. We’ve transformed the business from a paper-based directory to an innovative digital marketplace. We are owned by Brookfield and have over 500 people working for us across our offices in Portsmouth and London. Built on quality and reputation, we have in the region of 47,000 trade members UK wide who have passed 12 rigorous checks to verify their skill, reliability, and trustworthiness. Our website has over 24 million visits a year and features over six million published customer reviews, making it easy to find the perfect trade or service anywhere in the UK. For 25 years Checkatrade has stood for reputation and raising standards. Today is no different. Whether it is our trade members or our staff, we are all about doing the right thing. And that's because above all, reputation matters to all of us. We are a passionate bunch of people taking pride in building a business that’s on the path from good to great. We look for opportunities to do things brilliantly, face into challenges with transparency and continuously strive to become the number one place where homeowners go to get their jobs done by quality tradespeople.
