These special units, which sometimes required in house engineering and manufacturing of component parts, allowed Voltech Rebuilders to quickly establish a reputation with its local Montreal customers as a reliable supplier of high quality, hard-to-find, remanufactured starters and alternators.The company operated this way until late 2008 when it began remanufacturing on a larger scale. The company's long term strategy is to capitalize on its knowledge and know-how in order to offer a complete "Remanufactured in Canada" product, using quality in-house remanufactured O.E.M. components and quality O.E. aftermarket components. This enabled them to make significant quality improvements to their products by being in complete control of the quality of all components used in their finished products. Their top to bottom approach to remanufacturing also gave them various insights into why certain components failed the way they did.
