The Resort at Pikes Peak, LLC was formed in 2007 to develop a year-round ski area on the west side of historic Pikes Peak Mountain in Teller County. The 320-acre ski area is located near Colorado Springs, CO, and surrounded on all four sides by the 1.1 Million acre Pike National Forest.Currently people in the Pikes Peak region travel a least five hours round-trip to the nearest ski area market. Skiing recreation demand has grown exponentially, creating the need for an alternative ski area that does not require travel along Interstate Highway I-70. Avoiding this traffic load would result in a decrease of the carbon emissions caused by automobiles idling on jammed freeways.
