XEOS is a joint venture of two global aviation brands – Lufthansa Technik (51%) and GE Aviation (49%). The two largest and most reputable companies in the aviation industry decided to join forces in order to develop one of the most advanced aircraft engine servicing and overhaul centres in the world. The investment, based in a subzone of Legnica Special Economic Zone in Środa Śląska near Wrocław, is valued at PLN 1 billion. The centre applies innovative technologies to ensure comprehensive maintenance and repairs to cutting-edge aircraft engines produced by GE Aviation. XEOS is also building its own engine test cell which will be ready in 2021. The facility was open for business and inducted the first engine in April 2019.
