Mission: The mission of Pepper's Senior Dog Sanctuary is to provide a compassionate, loving and lifetime home that supports an elderly dog's good days, bad days and last days.Our Golden Rule: We provide our senior dogs with a family-owned, veterinarian-supervised and caring and comfortable environment where there's no shortage of nuzzles, cuddles, kisses, hugs and kindness. We believe in giving senior dogs a lifetime of love in a place we call home.The Organization: Pepper's Dog Sanctuary was founded in 2019 by Justin Klemer and his mom, Mary. Both are Colorado natives, lifelong animal advocates and caretakers and proud foster fails who have rescued and nurtured dozens of dogs.Employing a small, paid staff, Pepper's Dog Sanctuary is primarily funded from donations, grants and community-driven fundraisers. Our focus is on providing a lifelong sanctuary for senior dogs that have little to no chance of being adopted because of high medical expenses and needs, the time commitment involved for caring for an elderly dog, shelter overcrowding and premature and unnecessary euthanasia. All of our residents are fully screened by our onsite veterinarian, given a wellness and dental exam, groomed, spayed or neutered, socialized and loved at first lick. We ensure that our dogs are given full preventive and special-needs care throughout the duration of their lives at our sanctuary. From the moment our dogs arrive to when it comes time to cross the rainbow bridge, we're here throughout the entire journey.Pepper's Senior Dog Sanctuary is a lifetime home for senior dogs, located on 50 acres of beautiful farmland with rolling hills, in peaceful Littleton, Colorado. We are a volunteer-driven organization and our 501 (c)(3) status is pending.We depend almost entirely on donations to keep the sanctuary afloat and for funding renovations.
