Independent Education Consultant/Dual Language Training Institute Trainer
The Dual Language Training Institute (DLTI), established in 2001, is a consulting firm owned and operated by Dr. Leo Gómez, dedicated to PD services and technical support to schools and districts across the state of Texas and the nation committed to educating students through either a One-way or Two-way Dual Language Enrichment (DLE) program, thereby providing greater educational equity, full academic gap closure, increased graduation rates, and biliteracy opportunities. DLTI provides training, program assessment and ongoing technical support to implement and sustain the Gómez and Gómez DLE Models at the elementary, middle school and high school levels.Note: The Gómez & Gómez Elementary and Secondary DLE Models (including all elements within) is fully copyrighted and the use of this instructional model without proper training and/or written consent from DLTI is strictly prohibited as per copyright protection laws afforded by the U.S. Copyright Office, Title 17, U. S. Code.Dr. Leo Gómez and professional associates have conducted and continue to offer workshops on effective implementation of the Gómez & Gómez DLE Elementary and Secondary DLE Models. All consultants with DLTI have both public school and university experience and well-established resumes that span over 30 years. All DLTI consultants are Bilingual/ESL certified teachers with experiences related to instruction, program development and assessment PK-16 levels. DLTI consultants are mostly university professors or master-level bilingual educators. Gómez & Gómez DLE program implementation begins with a 2-Day Initial DLE training followed by a series of follow-up trainings and school fidelity visits. The elementary Gomez & Gomez DLE model was originally created in 1995 and the secondary model in 2001 by Dr. Leo Gómez, Professor (retired), and these two DLE programs have served well over 2 million ELL students and thousands of non-ELL students in the last 25 years!
