Since our founding in 2013, The Compost Plant has diverted over 25,000 tons of food waste and organic material from going to local landfills. By focusing our efforts exclusively on collection and diversion of food waste, and partnering with regional farms and anaerobic digesters producing high-quality soil amendments and clean energy, we are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from landfills and to optimize the efficiency and sustainability of waste transport. Owned and operated by Co-Founders Leo Pollock and Nat Harris, The Compost Plant is a low-profit, limited liability company (L3C), a new type of LLC designed as a venture with social and environmental benefits. We look forward to partnering with customers to maximize the management of their wastestreams and increase the sustainability of their operations.
