Brewery Het Anker started brewing beer 5 generations ago in the Grand Beguinage of Mechelen. Throughout the years, it became an internationally renowned brewery. To this day, the traditional recipes are still the foundation of the brewing process and a variety of hops and herbs gives the beers that characteristic taste and aroma.In the ‘Molenberg' family farm in Blaasveld, Gouden Carolus Single Malt is distilled from the mash of the beer Gouden Carolus Tripel. The ensuing aging in ex-Bourbon casks followed by a further aging in Het Anker casks results in a refined whisky with a full-bodied and balanced taste. Both family traditions - distilling and brewing - were combined in this project.Stop by, and discover how Het Anker - as one of the oldest breweries in Belgium (1471) - preserved the authenticity of far-off days.
