[DISCLAIMER: This is a private non profit initiative to keep the Ex Comverse employees (ex Nasdaq CMVT) in professional contact..] Comverse was home to thousands of programmers, project managers, product managers, and sales people. Comverse began in 1982 as a small startup in Tel Aviv specializing in the development of a voice mail plaform initially known as "Noa" but eventually renamed "Trilogue". Initially targeting the corporate market, Comverse set its sights on the international telecommunications market. As the company grew, it eventually became one of Israel's greatest high-tech successes. More importantly, Comverse was a magnet for dedicated engineers (hardware and software), project managers, product managers and an expert sales team all around the world. In addition to technology, Comverse invented sophisticated methodologies and manufacturing, project management, and delivery mechanisms which contributed to its success. Comverse's main success was its people, many of whom went on to start other extremely successful start-ups. The work atmosphere at Comverse was one of hard work and dedication. On any given early morning, Comverse employees were to be seen in the airport lounges of El Al and other airlines preparing for yet another business trip to meet customers, perform installations, and do pre-sales and post-sales work. It was unusual to take a flight in or out of Israel without meeting another Comverse employee on board. Comverse was a fertile planting ground for highly-skilled and motivated personnel. Comverse employees grew up within the system and were given opportunities that few other people are given in their lifetimes. The contributions of Comverse employees to the Israeli economy are immeasurable.
