The Blue Deer Center, located in the Catskill Mountains along the banks of the Platekill River, sits on land once recognized by indigenous peoples as a place of healing and conflict resolution. Today, grounded in the guidance and sponsorship of elders from ancestral traditions, the Center offers workshops and retreats based upon the timeless wisdom that the world is a divine and living presence. Through its programs, the Center invites visitors to approach their lives in a new and different way, to experience the natural world from a place of heart and connection, where the beings of nature – the fire, the wind, the river, and the myriad others – speak and sing.
