Fort Street Asset Management (FSAM) is a boutique money manager based in Honolulu. We actively manage global equity portfolios and provide advice on asset allocation strategies for a small group of clients in separately managed accounts. Our investment strategy is not predicated on the markets, but to own exceptional businesses at reasonable prices, or hold cash when opportunities are scarce, or prices are too high. This approach increases our odds of outperforming the benchmarks, while creating portfolios that can absorb external shocks and give us the confidence to stay invested during periods of extreme dislocation and uncertainty. Our strategy is long-term focused, unconstrained by style, geography, or sector, with a preference for larger, well-established companies that have high barriers to entry and sustainable growth. We maintain a diversified portfolio of 20 to 40 positions that are typically long-only and we use no leverage.
