Since its founding in 1948 by its owner, the Toronto Zionist Council, Camp Shalom has remained committed to Zionist and Judaic principles which inform every facet of camp life. It its daily activities Camp Shalom endeavours to promote identification with the State of Israel and with Judaism through its employment of Israeli shlichim and its observance of ritual practices and moral precepts.The Camp Shalom Experience incorporates a strong commitment to the preservation of the natural environment and an appreciation of our heritage.
