Vice President at Lindfield Junior Rugby Union Club - Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Lindfield Junior Rugby, rugby for everyone. Lindfield Junior Rugby Club's focus is participation, the goal that every player enjoys their rugby, in a safe environment, at a level appropriate to their skills and physical capabilities. We aim to field teams to cater for all participants, from Representative players to those that want to have a run in the park with their mates. Our club will provide training and development opportunities to improve & develop the skills of all participants. We welcome players of all abilities and gender. This however is subject to adherence with the SJRU Competition rules. We reserve the right to limit numbers within age groups where we would not be able to field a full team. In Minis from Under 6s to Unders 9's, players and teams are not graded. In under 10's to Opens players are graded on their ability to demonstrate the basic skills of the game, skills necessary for the particular position selected, their ability to participate in a team environment and potential for future development. In under 10's to Opens, the club will assess each team on its merits & request appropriate grading in the Sydney Junior Rugby Union (SJRU) competition. The objective is a grade where players enjoy their rugby and are competitive. We don't focus on a team in every A grade nor measure success by the number of grand final wins. We believe players should play at a standard where they are appropriately challenged & provided with an opportunity to demonstrate & develop their skills. The Lindfield tradition: Building friendships, skills & values for life.
