Coordinator, School-Based Mentoring Program at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County - Jamison, Pennsylvania, US
Celebrating over 60 years of service to the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Research has consistently demonstrated that a strong connection between a young person and an adult is the most important factor against becoming involved in drugs and crime. To have an adult to talk to, and to engage in a variety of positive activities with, can ultimately redirect a child's life. Children who are matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister are more motivated to stay in school, develop better relationships with family and peers, and create higher goals for their future. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County has been recognized nationally for the past eight years for delivering the highest quality program services. We engaged nearly 300 youth in our community and school base programs in the last calendar year, doubling our numbers. Besides our Community and School based programs we have our Options Program which serves an average of 150 youth in the calendar year. We are one of two agencies nationally that have this unique Options Program. We are so proud across all of our programs to serve upwards of 450 children a year - and growing, with your support!
