Service Coordinator - Asylum & Immigration Advice and Adult & Family Services
Asylum Welcome supports refugees, asylum seekers and immigration detainees in Oxford and Oxfordshire. Our volunteers, members, supporters and staff share values based on a common humanity and social justice. Together, we work to reduce poverty, suffering and social isolation, and to enable asylum seekers and refugees to live with the respect and dignity to which they are entitled. We provide free, confidential information, help and guidance for refugees, asylum seekers and immigration detainees in Oxford and Oxfordshire. We offer the following services: Information and advice - friendly, trained volunteers provide information and advice about the social, legal and health services provided by the various government bodies and other agencies. Services for destitute people - advice and other services including a food cupboard and lunch club. Services for detainees - a range of services including regular volunteer visits for detainees at Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre. Services for young people -information and advice services, and activities including a weekly youth club. Education - an education advice service, including help with finding academic and vocational classes, and one-to-one English-language lessons. Campaigns and Advocacy - awareness-raising events, media work and campaigns for change.
