The mission of A Wider Circle is to end poverty. Our holistic approach integrates on-the-ground services for the creation of stable homes, workforce development, and neighborhood revitalization. We also seek to develop large-scale solutions that incorporate greater awareness and engagement by the community. Founded in 2001, the organization's name was inspired by a 1950 letter from Albert Einstein to a grieving father that stated, "Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion."In the past five years alone, A Wider Circle has provided vital services to more than 80,000 children and adults. Each day, we also seek to change the conversation around poverty, ensuring that those with the greatest need are our greatest priority. Achieving our mission is truly a community-based effort with thousands of volunteers, in-kind donors, and local businesses engaged.
