Academus is a free education service for students who have previously not had access to a Classical Education. Our mission is to provide people with an introductory Classical Education giving them the inspiration to pursue Classics further. Academus is driven by the interests and involvement of our incredible community of passionate educators and students with a desire to delve into Classics. We pride ourselves on being a great, free resource and offering the opportunity for users to engage with a variety of topics in an interesting and safe online environment.Our aim is to inspire as many students as possible, who previously felt limited, to venture further into Classics. We want to encourage our students to take their Classical Education to the next stage be it through a degree, another online course or personal education. We want to offer our students the tools to find the right means for them.All our courses are free and are designed to give students who would not typically have the opportunity to study classics a place to learn and engage with the subject, through Ancient History, Literature and Languages.Academus relies on our network of volunteers to carry out all of our operations. We are a non-profit organisation relying on donations, both people's times and funding. Everyone who works for us chose to do so because they feel passionate about our cause, creating access in Classics.
