The Association of Jewish Day Schools (AJDS) is a non-profit, advisory organization established for the purpose of providing professional guidance and organizational support in response to the needs of its member schools. AJDS acts as the sole liaison and advocate between the government and its community of Jewish day schools on all matters related to the Ministry of Education, Research and Higher Education.AJDS was founded in 1969 as an independent association of schools. It is today comprised of 9 corporations operating on 12 campuses on the island of Montreal. It is governed by an elected Board of Directors made up of parents of students enrolled in our member schools.All of its member schools are licensed according to the norms of the Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sports, and employ only qualified and certified teachers to teach core curriculum. Students follow a secular program of study supplemented by a diverse and enriched program of Jewish studies. Linguistic proficiency in both English and French is a fundamental tenet of the schools of AJDS.Each of its schools has its own educational project as well as its own Board of Directors. They are led according to the needs of the parents in their community and reflect the diversity of our community.
