The Market Photo Workshop was founded by world-renowned photographer David Goldblatt in the late eighties. The Photo Workshop operates as a school of photography, resource centre for practising photographers, and a professional photography gallery. Due to its status as a cultural institution, the school is able to offer extended financial assistance to its students, and boasts various training programmes taught by some of the most accomplished photographers in South Africa. The Photo Workshop also incorporates The Photo Workshop Gallery - a professional photography gallery with an extensive local and international exhibition programme.
