Food Ladder is the world's first not-for-profit to use hydroponics and environmentally sustainable technologies to create food and economic security for communities otherwise reliant on aid and affected by poverty. For the past five years Food Ladder has used its custom designed systems to grow commercial quantities of nutrient-rich produce around the world; from the rooftops of village schools in India to the remote community of Ramingining in Arnhem Land. Flat packed and delivered in containers wherever there is the need, Food Ladder creates an artificial environment in which food production is enhanced, and can be managed by the community itself.Food Ladder not only addresses food security, but creates employment and education opportunities for adults and children through nutrition programs and training accreditations. Benefits also include an increased sense of community pride and achievement, as well as a shift in attitudes around healthy eating.
