The "Mente Aberta" ("Open Mind") Center has the Mission to Promote and Disseminate Mindfulness-Based Interventions in Brazil, with a focus on its Practices, Professional Training, and Scientific Research, aimed at Health Promotion. The Center is a Extension Program of the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP).The Center follows the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Trainers Guidelines accessible at www.mindfulnessteachersuk.org.ukWhy "Open Mind"?"Open Mind", in the context of Mindfulness and Health Promotion, can be understood in two ways:1) Be "open" to other ways of caring and promoting health, in addition to conventional ones;2) "Open Mind" or "Openness" to what emerges from the present experience, as the term Mindfulness could also be understood (see "What is Mindfulness?").
