SPAEN work with individuals to deliver the promise of 'self-directed support', empowering people with disabilities and long-term conditions to lead independent lives.Over a decade of listening to our members & 4 decades of experience responding to needs and shaping service delivery to meet the individual needs of our members and now with a new and exciting membership remit that covers everyone involved in the co-production and delivery of self-directed support, SPAEN are perfectly positioned to:o Provide information and feedback to policy makers; o Assist statutory organisations meet their obligations and exceed service users expectations;o Support service users in their employer duties, leaving them free to lead the life they want to;o Develop and support personal assistants.SPAEN now offers 4 membership options:o Individual Member - for people who are directing a self-directed support package or are in receipt of same;o Corporate Member - for statutory bodies (local authorities; NHS Boards) tasked with delivering SDS;o Associate Member - For 3rd sector organisations supporting statutory bodies and individuals in receipt of SDS;o Affiliate Member - for current or aspiring personal assistantsSPAEN also offers a whole range of services, tailored to each of the membership levels.
