The Vavengers is a UK based anti-FGM charity working with survivors and partner organisations toward one common goal: ending Female Genital Mutilation. In 2015, The Vavengers used grassroots funding to erect the UK's first anti-FGM billboard. We then focused on bridging the gap between the charity sector and the arts and spent several years hosting events throughout London to raise much-needed funds and awareness for survivors of FGM. Today, we continue to bridge gaps within the sector by helping survivors and frontline activists connect with funding bodies and governments as well as the creative community. We are working on a series of projects and partnerships capable of engaging the mainstream media and broadcasting the stories of survivors beyond their communities. We work with individuals and organisations united because it is only through working together that we can we finally abolish FGM.
