Little Bluestem Landscape Architecture + Design (LBLA) is a boutique consulting firm based in the Treaty One Territory of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Little Bluestem offers the full range of design, community consultation, planning, and project management services required to bring a project to fruition. We have completed planning, coordination, and construction of all season recreational amenities, interpretive planning and destination branding. We have extensive experience in research and report writing and are able to analyze, compare and generate data through the use of GIS software, digital mapping, and photogrammetric surveys (drones & ground photography). The LBLA team specializes in public engagement and place-based design. We are committed to reconciliation, and strive to bring indigenous teachings, native plants, and a holistic systems view to each project. We excel in landscape and planning projects that require unique, site-specific design solutions. We believe that engagement is key to the long term success of landscape projects, and we utilize the core values and principles from the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2). It is important to understand and consider the voices of the public and key stakeholders in project planning. This provides an added layer to support technical recommendations with sound input on social, environmental, economical decision making and feasibility.
