Un centre de recherche Le Centre d'études et de documentation économiques, juridiques et sociales (CEDEJ) est un centre de recherche pluridisciplinaire, dont les travaux portent sur l'Égypte et le Soudan contemporains, dans toutes les disciplines des sciences humaines et sociales (sciences politiques, droit, économie, géographie...). The CEDEJ (Centre for social, judicial and economic documentation and study) is a multidisiplinary research center whose work in all aspects of social and human sciences cover contemporary Egypt and Soudan. It was created during the Franco-Egyptian 1968 cooperation., In the process, CEDEJ obtained oversight of a part the library of an old institution ; the French School of Law founded in 1890. CEDEJ is part of a network of research institutes under the direction of Scientific Cooperation, University Cooperation, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Since 1985, it is associated with the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) where it has a research center in the Department of Human and Society Sciences. CEDE J is based in Cairo, but has a permanent office in Khartoum, Soudan. It creates and puts into action research programs, hosts researchers and students from the international community, organizes seminars, fora, and conference cycles. In cooperation with other regional centers, it participates in programs (research) focused on all aspects of the Arab and Muslim world. It has considerable documentary resources, as well as editing and publishing facilities in order to dessiminate its findings. Its activities are always conducted in close cooperation with Egyptian and Soudanese scientific and universities. Some conventions on cooperation serve to link the CEDEJ to other European, American, and international organizations.
