The Hygiene Foundation is an independent, international organization dedicated to improving the health of communities through raising hygiene awareness. We all know that although something may look clean, it is not necessarily hygienic. After all, the floors of most restaurants look clean but we wouldn't eat off them! Good hygiene practices contribute to improving the health of the general community--something we can all aspire to. Just as importantly, you can improve your own health by following some really simple steps. Until now, when you have visited your gym, dropped your children off at day-care or school, eaten at the local restaurant, or gone on holiday and stayed at a motel, there has not been a way to tell whether these places have a real commitment to hygiene (and therefore your health) other than by you keeping an eye out for dirt (or mice). The Hygiene Foundation has changed this. The White Tick™ certificate is the sign that the gym, day-care, restaurant (and so on) you are visiting is committed to great hygiene standards. They are on a program of regular assessment by the Foundation and implement recommendations to provide the safest, most hygienic premises for you and your family.
